His interest in oriental medicine and philosophy started 50 years ago with his involvement in the martial arts and healing.
His dedicated and caring approach has helped many patients with a wide variety of illnesses, and he is known throughout the Hudson Valley as a practitioner who gets positive results with his patients. Detlef Wolf hosted his own TV series on Times Warner Cable (For your Heath), and also held a call-in radio program on the benefits of acupuncture and has lectured extensively in the United States as well as in Europe.
He graduated from the Tristate Institute for Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and is a board certified NCCA and NY State licensed practitioner, who is trained in different acupuncture protocols such as: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, English, French, and German style acupuncture. This background allows him to use a wide variety of treatment modalities such as electric acupuncture, laser, heat, needles, magnets, ear acupuncture, as well as trigger points and color therapy.
In his Wellness Center he provides Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Liver Cleansing techniques, Body Cleansing using Footbaths, Facial Rejuvenation, Weight control, Smoking Cessation, nutritional as well as homeopathic advise.
He is a member of the prestigious non-for-profit : ”Foundation for Wellness Professionals”, which is a national organization of healthcare experts, and who lecture all over the United States.
He has taught Judo and Aikido for more than 35 years in the Poughkeepsie and was the New York Chairmen for Judo for the Empire State Games.
